{TEASER TUESDAY}: Eternal Curse -- 3 weeks until release!

Only 3 weeks to go before ETERNAL CURSE is out in the world! Know what that means?

It's time for another #TeaserTuesday!

Today, I'm doing something a little different and talking a bit about the covers for The Cursed Series and how colors play a significant role in not just the cover art, but in the stories, too. And you're going to get to see the covers for book 3 and 4, which have not been officially revealed yet!

Eternal Curse -- RED

Red is Chloe's favorite color, so it made sense to use this color on the cover that features her. But beyond that, red is a very emotionally intense color--and Chloe is an emotional girl! Her emotions are always all over the place, and it's not uncommon for her to be angry one second and laughing the next.

Red is the color of fire and blood, and it signifies energy, power, determination, passion, desire, and love--all characteristics Chloe possesses. Not to mention, as a human among vampires, the red drives home the concept of her having blood in her veins.

As the series progresses, there's a running joke between her and Jax about the color red ;) But you'll have to read it to find out what that is.

Eternal Choice -- BLUE

Blue is not only the color of Trent's eyes, but it's his favorite color, too. It's a color associated with the sky and the sea, and if you notice in the background of this cover, there's a waterfall. That's a special place for him and Chloe, and incorporating that into the cover meant we had to go with a matching color scheme. Blue felt natural.

Additionally, blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, and intelligence--all characteristics Trent possesses. He's the one person Chloe can trust above anyone else. He's fiercely loyal to her, always offering a shoulder to cry on or a safe space to vent. Not to mention, he can calm her in a way no one else ever can.

Eternal Bond -- GREEN

This cover features Jax, who is one of Trent's brothers, and someone Chloe eventually learns to trust; though their relationship is anything but friendly in the beginning.

Green is associated with life, nature, and energy. The background here with the trees and roads hints at both nature and the journey Jax and Chloe take together in this book. Jax is fully of energy, and the concept of life is talked about a lot in this book. Furthermore, green is very commonly known to mean jealousy, which is an emotion Jax is a way too familiar with.

Jax has the ability to read a person's aura, to determine their emotional energy based on the color surrounding them. To him, people are walking mood rings.

Eternal Love -- PURPLE

Purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, power, and ambition. While those ideas don't really play a role in this book, I chose the color purple for a couple of reasons.

First, red (Chloe) + blue (Trent) = purple, and to me this cover is the culmination of Chloe and Trent's love.

Second, purple also symbolizes devotion--which Chloe and Trent have for one another--and magic, which starts to play a much larger role in the series in this book. Some sources say purple can also relate to hopes and dreams, and there are definitely a lot of those in this book.

While I'm not sharing the covers for books 4 and 5 just yet (for spoiler reasons), I will say that they follow the same theme as the first four books in that the colors were chosen for very specific reasons.

You can now Pre-Order ETERNAL CURSE!

Don't forget to add it to Goodreads, too!
